Dear Aldrin Families,

We kicked off this week with another fantastic Community Classroom.  Students talked about kindness and what it means to be kind.  The students then enjoyed each others’ company while playing board games. It was quite a treat!  On Thursday, we were treated to the talents of the Frost band.  First, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grades enjoyed the tunes that Mr. Lawton and his talent crew shared with us.

As this week has shown, weather can be unpredictable.  Students practiced a Shelter in Place drill today.  As always, we want to make sure that we are always ready in case an emergency should occur.  Classes did great as they ducked and covered, staying quiet and listening for directions!  Thanks to our staff who have prepared students so well.

Next week is Respect week.  Each year schools across Illinois celebrate Respect Week. This celebration is derived from the Spread the Word Campaign.  This campaign focuses on inclusion of people with disabilities.  Help us celebrate Respect week at Aldrin next week by wearing the color of the day.

  • Monday-White
  • Tuesday-Green
  • Wednesday-Blue or Orange
  • Thursday-Purple
  • Friday-Yellow

Don’t forget IAR testing also starts next week.  Make sure students are well rested and eat breakfast to prepare them for state testing. We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend!
