Good evening,
Wow, it has certainly been a very busy four days at Aldrin School. We are hopeful you had an amazing spring break with your children. We know they were full of stories for us, which tells us loads of lasting memories have been solidified. When the children share with us, it always warms our hearts. As always, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your children’s lives.
Each spring, we start our process of planning for next year. One piece of the process is to place our current students into classes for the upcoming year. We truly value our partnership with you as we all strive to set up the best learning environment for your child. Simply click on the blue link, parent input survey, to let us know what type of environment best matches your child’s learning style. Please note, these surveys must be completed no later than April 16th.
Each spring, students in District 54 take federally mandated assessments (IAR) designed to help school districts understand how our students are growing academically. The testing will occur for all 3rd through 6th grade in-person learners on April 7th, 8th and 9th. Since the children will be testing all day, the remote learners, who are not required to test, will be provided with alternative lessons pushed out through Google Classroom. If you have a child in 5th grade, they will also take three additional science tests that will occur on April 13th, 14th and 15th. The science tests will take less than 60 minutes to complete, and the teachers will let the remote children know what needs to be completed while their peers at school are testing. Thank you in advance for your flexibility and support as we complete these assessments.
Please don’t forget to access your parent portal and complete the online renewal registration for your student(s) for the 2021-2022 school year. If you will not be returning to Aldrin for the 2021-2022 school year, please contact Mrs. Davis in the school office at 847-357-5400.
The Lakeview Food Pantry is open and ready to serve ALL Aldrin families. Although you will not be able to come into the pantry due to COVID restrictions, you will be able to place an order online and pick up at Lakeview School. Please click on this link to place your order online. If you have any questions, please call (847) 357-6600.

Foundation Memorial Grants
The District 54 Education Foundation proudly offers grants to District 54 students to fund their participation in a program of their choice. This grant is intended for children from families facing extenuating financial circumstances. Students can apply to receive a $100 grant to be used for one program of their choice. This year, the funds can also be used during the 2021-2022 school year, as we anticipate more program options being available as the year continues.
