It is hard to believe this is the last full week of Trimester 2. We are so proud of how hard our students have worked and we have no doubt they will finish this trimester on a high note. Please be sure to check the parent portal this week to ensure your child’s assignments are up to date. Your child’s teacher would be happy to further discuss any outstanding assignments and help you support your child while completing the work.

If your child is participating in fully remote learning, we have supplies for you to pick up at Aldrin for the 3rd Trimester. We are pleased to share that Nestle Healthy Hydration selected Aldrin PTA to receive their National PTA grant. This grant will help our students and families to learn the ways to stay active and hydrated. We will be announcing an event in Spring to promote Healthy Hydration, but in the meantime, be sure to talk to your child about reducing sugary beverages and drinking more water. Click on the document and videos below to help you and your child to make healthy choices!
Givebacks to Aldrin PTA
We’re excited to launch a new fundraiser called Givebacks that we think you’ll like! It’s an easy and fun way to help us reach our fundraising goals to support our school! Almost every week we’ll be adding new special savings on family products and services to our store. When you buy Givebacks, up to 20% of ALL sales go back to our PTA!
We are currently working on increasing our PTA membership for the 2020/21 school year. As many of you know, our PTA works tirelessly behind the scenes to support our students. Over the years, our PTA has allowed us to offer planners, folders, birthday books, assemblies, parties and so much more. This year, we are already formulating ways to make connections between our Aldrin families in more of a virtual way. We would love your ideas and are hopeful you will be able to support our efforts by joining the Aldrin PTA. To learn more about the Aldrin PTA and how to support through a membership, please visit https://aldrinelementary.new.memberhub.store/
PTA Scholarship Opportunities
As part of its commitment to life-long learning, the Schaumburg Township Council of PTAs (STC) offers scholarships for summer programs/camps to District 54 students currently in Kindergarten through 7th grade who wish to broaden their education, talents, and experiences. This is a great way to fund your child’s summer activities. Please open the documents below to apply by March 30. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the parent/guardian must be Aldrin PTA member by March 1, 2021.
5 Essentials Survey
Once again we are reaching out to our families and asking you to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey to provide us with your perspective and help guide our school improvement efforts. The parent survey will be available online through April 2, 2021, at survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois. Please note, you will need to type in our school name as Buzz Aldrin to access the survey. For more information, click here to read the letter from District 54.
Have a fabulous week!
