Aldrin School serves students from preschool through sixth grade. In addition to traditional classes at each grade level, Aldrin also offers multiage classes for first- and second-grade students, for third- and fourth-grade students and for fifth- and sixth-grade students.

A full continuum of special services is available to students in District 54. We have several early childhood sites, which are clustered geographically. Aldrin is one of the early childhood sites. Each elementary school also provides gifted resource services and special education services.

Aldrin also offers the District 54 parent paid preschool for children ages 3, 4, and 5. Attendance follows the regular school day schedule: 8 –10:30 am or 11:45 am– 2:15 pm with Early Release on Wednesdays: 8–10:15 am or 11:30 am–1:45 pm. Our dedication to ensure success for all students has provided us with a system of intervention commonly referred to as RtI. We make it a priority to ensure students master essential learning outcomes. Through the RtI process, teachers determine when it is appropriate to reteach and enrich learning.

In addition to the excellent educational environment, the following clubs and activities are also available at Aldrin:  GEMS Club, Handchime Ensemble, Science Fair, Rainbows, New Student Groups, Ambassadors Club, Learning to Keyboard Club, Math Olympiads, Make a Difference Club, S.T.E.M. Club, Homework Club, Battle of the Books Club, Multicultural Club, Office Helpers and Patrols.

The school was named after Apollo 11 astronaut Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin.
